21-year-old starts, 29-year-old misses out: West Ham’s predicted XI vs Wolves

West Ham are back in Premier League action this weekend and they’ll be hoping to continue their assault on the top four.

David Moyes’ side have once again been performing above all expectations this season and a win this weekend could see them move to the top of the league.

Of course, the Hammers would need a 13-goal swing for that to happen, so it’s very unlikely that we’ll see the London club ascend to the top of the table this weekend, but stranger things have happened in football – albeit rarely.

First and foremost, the Hammers need to navigate this tough game against  a Wolves side that have won three of their last five games.

With that in mind, we’ve had a go at predicting West Ham’s starting XI for this one.

We think that the Hammers will by-and-large stick with the team that beat Liverpool a fortnight ago.

Sadly, Angelo Ogbonna has to drop out of the team after he picked up what could be a season-ending injury against Liverpool, so Craig Dawson comes into the side to replace him.

Perhaps the biggest decision Moyes has to make is at right-back, Ben Johnson has been brilliant as of late, but Vladimir Coufal is his mainstay.

We think Moyes will reward Johnson’s good form and keep him in the team, meaning the 21-year-old starts over the 29-year-old.

Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek start in the middle, while Jarrod Bowen, Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals start behind Michail Antonio.
