RANGERS hero Barry Ferguson has demanded ‘a bit of commitment’ from Ibrox winger Ryan Kent.

Fergie came out with the comments after the ex-Liverpool man was tipped for a move to the Premier League by pundits today, as his contract runs out at the end of the season.

Kent has been a key player for the Light Blues since he signed for them in 2018.

He may have been quiet in Rangers’ crunch qualifier against PSV last night, but his impact on the Govan side is undeniable.

And just today, Kent has been favoured for a blockbuster move to the English Premier League.

TalkSport pundit Jamie O’Hara reckoned that the 25-year-old is good enough to play for his old side Tottenham Hotspur.

And now Gers legend Ferguson has demanded commitment from Kent as the transfer deadline day edges closer.

His deal also runs out at the end of the season.

“Kent was good (against PSV). I am a big fan of Ryan Kent. I think when he is on it, he is a match winner, similar to Jota.” Fergie said on Go Radio.

“But his contract is up at the end of the season. I need to see a bit of commitment.”

However, he admits that it may be ‘greedy’ of him to ask for him to ask to improve and sign a new Rangers deal.

He continued: “I want a better end product. There is no doubt he has got fantastic ability, but I am looking to see more goals.

“As a wide player I would be looking at 10-12 goals a season. He is a player who I think highly of.

“It’ll be interesting to see if Kent, and Morelos, commit themselves. You are getting down to the nitty gritty now.

“I want to see commitment. If you lose two players of that quality it’s a big hit for Rangers.”
