‘Big trouble’: Mido aims bizarre criticism at ‘world class’ £30m Tottenham target – Uber Turco News

Jordan Pickford is one of a number of Everton players being targeted by Tottenham ahead of he summer. He has been superb – but ex-Spurs striker Mido has aimed some somewhat bizarre criticism at England’s no.1.

Pickford, 28, has kept just seven clean sheets in 35 Premier League matches this season – conceding 58 times. But the ex-Sunderland man has been the club’s saviour at times, earning plenty of praise from Frank Lampard.

Jean-Philippe Mateta opened the scoring for Palace, while Pickford could be questioned for his role in the second. A poor punch and then failing to deal with the rebound, saw Jordan Ayew bundle the ball into the back of the net.

Michael Keane, Richarlison and Dom Calvert-Lewin all scored second-half goals to produce a stunning comeback. But there is surely no doubt that this season, Pickford has produced some of his best form in an Everton shirt.

Reports last month claimed that both Tottenham and Newcastle want to sign Pickford, a player Everton bought for £30million (BBC). But former Tottenham ace Mido is not a fan and made that very clear on Thursday.

Mido criticises Tottenham target Pickford: Everton star needs praise

Mido’s criticism is mis-placed. While he did not enjoy his best ever game on Thursday night, the England stopper has reminded all why he is England’s no.1 goalkeeper. Above Aaron Ramsdale, Nick Pope in the pecking order.

Pope has been on fire for Burnley of late, producing another man-of-the-match display against Aston Villa on Thursday. But while he might be a slightly better shot-stopper than Pickford, the latter is better with the ball.

Tottenham want to sign him and they could do a lot worse than Pickford. Garth Crooks recently said his performance have been world class. Mido’s criticism, and timing of it, is both bizarre and wrong.
