Why did George Harrison leave The Beatles? Musician’s exit explained

Peter Jackson’s docuseries, The Beatles: Get Back, has begun on Disney+. The series explores the professional lives of band members John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison, and fans of the iconic British band are wondering why the latter musician left the group.

The three-part docuseries is an examination of the band’s professional life as well as a more intimate and humorous look at their time together. The extent of the narrative covers the band’s making of the 1970 album ‘Let It Be’ – under the titular working title ‘Get Back’ – and leans on material captured by Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s 1970 album documentary.

The final part is scheduled to air on Saturday, November 27, 2021.

Why did George Harrison leave The Beatles?

The first episode of the docuseries showcased the exact moment when George Harrison left the band.

During a morning of rehearsals, the band members can be seen working on the song “Get Back” – the name of the documentary.

After McCartney began criticizing Harrison for “vamping” on the song, it became apparent that Harrison was not happy.

After a few moments, the guitarist stood up and existed rehearsals, simply saying “I’m leaving the band now.”

When did Harrison leave the band?

According to the records of the documentary and Harrison’s diaries, the musician left the band on Friday, January 10, 1969.

This date marked the second occurrence when a member had left the band, after Ringo Starr temporarily left the group in August 1968.

The musician’s death

After entertaining a successful solo career up until 1996, Harrison sadly passed away on November 29, 2001, at the age of 58.

Unfortunately, Harrison had battled cancer multiple times in his life and it was reportedly throat cancer that sadly took his life.

Encanto soundtrack: Every song in the Disney movie explored

Encanto is the newest animated film from the House of Mouse and it wouldn’t be a Disney film without plenty of music.

The new arrival is no different as it packs in plenty of songs, some of which are the creation of Lin-Manuel Miranda, one of the hottest properties in movie music at the moment.

But just what songs feature in Encanto’s toe-tapping soundtrack and who composed the Latin American-inspired score?

Fans who want to watch from home will be able to do so via Disney+ on December 24th.

The charming film, which features music from Lin-Manuel Miranda, centres on the Madrigal family who live in an enchanted town that’s hidden away in the mountains.

Each member of the family possesses an amazing special ability such as superhuman strength or healing – each member except one, Mirabel.

However, when the family’s magic is put under threat, the ungifted Mirabel learns that she may be the only one able to help.

Encanto soundtrack

It wouldn’t be a Disney film without music and Encanto is certainly packed with songs that make the film a heartwarming and thrilling affair.

Encanto’s score

As well as the film’s songs, Encanto also features a cinematic score composed by Germaine Franco.

The light-hearted score is the perfect fit for Encanto’s Colombian setting with plenty of guitar and trumpets used throughout.

Composer Germaine Franco has been creating music for films and TV series since the 1990s with her most notable work including 2018’s Tag, Dora and the Lost City of Gold as well as her Oscar-winning role in the music department of Pixar’s Coco.

Both Encanto’s songs and score can be found on the soundtrack album which was released to coincide with the film’s arrival and can be found on the likes of Spotify and Apple Music.

Encanto is out now in cinemas in the US and UK after releasing on November 24th while the film will be available on Disney+ from December 24th.

How many episodes in The Beatles: Get Back? Release schedule explored

After four years in the making, Peter Jackson’s long-awaited documentary series, The Beatles: Get Back, has finally arrived on our screens.

Chronicling the band’s final months, Jackson has edited down more than 60 hours of video footage and over 150 hours of audio recordings from the making of 1970’s Let It Be film into a more digestible series.

But just how many episodes are there in The Beatles: Get Back and when is each new instalment being released on Disney+?

The Beatles: Get Back release date and premise

The Beatles: Get Back premiered on Disney+ on Thursday, November 25th, 2021.

The Beatles are undoubtedly one of the biggest, if not the biggest, rock bands of all time and yet there is a huge amount of conjecture about exactly how the group broke up more than five decades ago.

Released in May 1970, Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s Let It Be film is regarded by many as only showing the darker side to The Beatles’ final recording sessions with tensions rising between the bandmates until they eventually went their separate ways.

Now, however, Peter Jackson has delved into more than 60 hours of footage that was recorded at the time to tell a more complete version of the story in his “documentary about a documentary” which involved many more jovial and humourous moments than the original film showed.

How many episodes are in The Beatles: Get Back?

The Beatles: Get Back consists of three episodes in total.

Released over what is Thanksgiving weekend in the US, the first instalment of Get Back arrived on Disney+ on November 25th.

The following two episodes will be following suit on November 26th and 27th respectively.

Fans wanting to watch each new episode as soon they release will be able to do so from midnight Pacific Time in the US.

Around the world, that translates to:

  • 12am PT in the US
  • 3am ET in the US
  • 8am GMT in the UK
  • 9am CET in Europe
  • 1:30pm IST in India
  • 7pm AEDT in Sydney, Australia

How long is each episode?

Oscar-winning director Peter Jackson certainly doesn’t do things by halves and that is certainly the case with The Beatles: Get Back.

While Jackson has cut the original 60 hours of footage right down, each episode of the docuseries is between two and three hours in length, with a total runtime approaching eight hours.

The exact runtimes of each episode are as follows:

  • Part 1 | 157 minutes (2:37 hours)
  • Part 2 | 173 minutes (2:53 hours)
  • Part 3 | 138 minutes (2:18 hours)
  • Total | 468 minutes (7:48 hours)

The second season was publicly announced in July 2020, with filming starting from March 1st, 2021 in Jaipur. Unfortunately, like countless other productions, filming was hampered by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and didn’t conclude until June 2021.

“In the second season, the audiences encounter Aarya in a new light. While in the first season, we saw her take the moral stand on the incidents around her life, this time we will see her emerge with a survival instinct like never before.” – Ram Madhvani, via Koimoi.

All episodes from season 2 of Aarya will be available to stream online from December 10th, but neither an episode count nor release time has yet been confirmed.

How was season 1 rated?

Season 1 of Aarya received a fantastic reception from both fans and critics alike, resulting in several nominations at the 2020 Filmfare OTT Awards – including Sushmita Sen winning Best Actress.

The series was even nominated for Best Drama Series at the 2021 International Emmy Awards.

At the time of writing, Aarya has maintained its exceptional standings on various user-based feedback websites, scoring 7.9/10 on IMDB with over 11,000 reviews.

“A story well told, gripping and well maintained. Brilliant performance by Sushmita sen, she nailed it with her acting skills. She deserves more such roles. Gets bit dragged in some portions but thats avoidable. Overall a good watch.” – User rajiyer-66521, via IMDB.

However, there were several reviews from critics that whilst being initially positive, hinted that there were aspects holding Aarya back from superstardom.

Both The Times of India and The Indian Express gave Aarya’s debut broadcast a solid, if not underwhelming, three out-of-five stars.

“For the most part, Aarya stays on course, taut, unpredictable, pacey and enjoyable. I was eager to know what’s going to happen next, and that’s straight away a win.” – The Indian Express.

Why does Hawkeye have a hearing aid?

MARVEL favorite Hawkeye has returned to our screens – this time with his own mini series.

But eagle-eyed fans have noticed a subtle change to the Avengers character – a small black hearing aid.

Hawkeye has been seen wearing a hearing aid int he new series

Why does Hawkeye have a hearing aid?

In this new Disney+, the hearing aid is first mentioned in Clinton Barton’s – Hawkeye’s alter ego – first scene.

In the original comics, Clint Barton had a hearing aid and so directors have decided to revive that.

In episode 2 of the new series, it is revealed why he has one.

There is a montage of Hawkeye’s dangerous ventures from previous movies, all of which he’s done without a helmet or protection like, for example, Iron Man.

“Clint is a regular guy,” Hawkeye executive producer Trinh Tran told Decider in an interview.

“He doesn’t have superpowers and he gets injured.

“All those experiences and events that he has gone through as an Avenger in the last 10 years has affected him.

“We want to show that, and we haven’t really had a chance to explore that in the other movies, where you show our heroes being bandaged up and being affected by certain events.”

Does Hawkeye actor Jeremy Renner wear a hearing aid?

Jeremy Renner has played Hawkeye for a decade.

He has featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Thor (2011), The Avengers (2012), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and Black Widow (2021).

The 50-year-old, from California, does not wear a hearing aid in real life.

How many Hawkeye episodes are there?

The mini series will consist of six episodes.

As of November 24, 2021, two have been released on Disney+.

Each episode is set to be up to 50 minutes long.

Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye is also joined by fellow Hawkeye Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld.
