German Shepherd leads cops to crash scene
Tinsley the 1-year-old German shepherd was successfully able to lead New Hampshire state police to the site of the owner’s car crash, where both the vehicle’s occupants were seriously injured.
Thankfully, due to Tinsley’s heroism aided by the fast police response, they both received medical assistance.
The truck, assumed to belong to the owner of Tinsley, turned off the road near a Vermont interstate junction, reports say.
Newsweek reports that an NHSP trooper and officers from the Lebanon police department approached the German shepherd, but she ran away towards the interstate.
In talks with WCVB, New Hampshire State Police Lieutenant Daniel Baldassarre explained: “They could tell the dog was trying to show them something because she kept trying to get away from them but didn’t run away totally. It was kind of, ‘Follow me. Follow me.’”

Tinsley’s owner speaks out
Since the incident, Tinsley’s owner, Cam Laundry, 31, has praised his pet for her heroism.
Laundry, along with the other occupant, was seriously injured and suffering from hypothermia, according to a public Facebook post by the police department. The dog was, reportedly, not injured.
In talks with WCVB, Laundry explained: “She’s my little guardian angel, you know.
“It’s a miracle that she had that kind of intelligence to do what she did.”
The public praise “hero” dog
As Tinsley’s story continues to make the rounds online, Twitter users have taken to the platform in awe of the “hero” pup.
One person related: “I am literally crying this is so amazing. I rescued a freezing cold wet dog on my drive home tonight. Luckily his collar had his parents name and cell on it so I called and waited for his dad to come get him. His dad was very happy.”
Another tweeted: “This dog is definitely a hero! Absolutely, without a doubt! But if the officers had not cared about a dog on the road – & not been attentive – this could have ended poorly. Props to the officers as well! Good jobs all around!”
Somebody else wrote: “Dogs and the lengths they’ll go for their people (and even strangers) never cease to amaze me.”
A further person added: “Wow! Way to go, everyone! So glad these officers paid attention to Tinsley!”
