West Ham United have shown the most serious interest in the race to sign Hellas Verona star Antonin Barak as the Czech influx could continue.

Tuttomercatoweb report that it’s West Ham who have ‘moved in the most convinced way’ to sign Barak this month.

Other Verona players are liked, but it seems that Barak is the most likely sale to bring funds into the club.

L’Arena reported last week that Atalanta, AC Milan and Inter Milan all want to sign Barak with a €20million (£17million) price tag.

Yet it’s West Ham who are allegedly most likely to sign Barak in what could be a significant January move.

Barak, 27, has bagged five goals and three assists in 15 Serie A appearances this season.

Whilst Barak is a tall threat at 6ft 3in, he isn’t quite like Tomas Soucek in that he is more of a number 10 than a midfielder.

Technically gifted and with a great left foot, Barak could bring something a little different to the West Ham side.

Barak is also a Czech international, meaning he knows the likes of Vladimir Coufal, Alex Kral and Soucek well.

This may just be a case of linking a Czech player to West Ham because of their recent influx, but Barak is a quality playmaker who may now be ready for a big move.
