Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed reported Newcastle United target Aaron Ramsey is an ‘outgoing’ player and Juventus are ‘working on’ selling him in the January transfer window.

Ramsey has failed to live up to his high wage since joining the Serie A side for free in 2019. He signed a £400k-a-week deal with the Bianconeri to leave Arsenal at end of his contract in north London. Yet has struggled to deliver consistent form in between spells out injured.

Fitness has continued to elude the Welshman this season, with Ramsey only playing 112-minutes over eight appearances so far. He has also not played in the Italian top-flight since September 26. While missing their last seven fixtures with an injury sustained in November.

Juventus now want to free themselves of Ramsey’s salary in the January transfer window, amid interest from Newcastle. But Calciomercato note the midfielder has so far rejected all offers to leave Turin – including from the Toon. He still believes he can still play at the top.

The Bianconeri are open to letting Ramsey leave for free or a low sum, despite his contract running to 2023. They would even consider loan bids and could cover part of his wage, too.

Bianconeri boss Allegri has now confirmed the reports, and that Juventus believe Ramsey’s time in Turin is over. The midfielder is also unlikely to feature against Napoli on Thursday.

Allegri stated during his press conference on Wednesday, via TuttoMercatoWEB: “Ramsey is back today after we gave him days off to work in England and do a differentiation there. However, he is an outgoing player. So, let’s make it clear.”

“Ramsey’s now set to leave Juventus. We’re working on it,” he added, via Fabrizio Romano. “There are no other changes/transfers in our plans, this is 99% sure.”
